"I brought in my late father's Seiko, which had not been running for years. Encik Ahmad looked at it in front of me, explained what the movement needed, and told me honestly it would take around two weeks. It came back running well, and there was a short note tucked inside the box describing what they had done. I did not expect that. It felt respectful of the watch and of me."

"The dial on my grandfather's Citizen had a few marks on it that I thought could not be helped. They managed to clean it up very well without touching the printing on the dial at all. The crystal is clear again and the hands sit straight. A fair price and they finished on time — I will bring my other watches here when they need attention."

"I came in asking about a new strap for my husband's dress watch. The lady at the counter — Rohana, I think — looked at the existing strap and said it was still serviceable with a small repair, and that a replacement was not strictly necessary yet. We left with the original strap adjusted and cleaned for much less than I expected to pay. That kind of honesty is not always easy to find."

"I have a vintage Omega that I wear for special occasions. It had been losing about a minute a day and I was nervous to hand it to someone I did not know. A colleague who collects watches told me to go to Masa Kirana. They were careful with it, showed me the timing machine results before and after, and it has been keeping excellent time since. I am glad I trusted the recommendation."

"The bracelet on my watch had stretched over the years and felt very loose on my wrist. I had assumed it would need full replacement. Zulkifli adjusted the links and removed a spacer I had not noticed, and now it sits perfectly. He also showed me how the clasp was slightly bent — something I would not have noticed — and straightened it on the spot. Good people."

"I walked in not entirely sure what my watch needed. Encik Ahmad looked at it, wound it, and told me it was running fine and the main issue was just the dirty crystal and a loose hand. He was clear about the cost and did not try to add anything extra. The service felt very calm and unhurried, which suited me. I will be back."

A Few Longer Stories
These are accounts of watches that needed more considered attention and what that looked like from start to finish.
The Challenge
A customer brought in a dress watch from his late uncle's estate. The watch was original but had not been serviced in at least fifteen years. It was running intermittently and stopping when worn on the wrist, which suggested a worn mainspring or a circulation problem with the lubricants.
The Service
Full movement disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning. The mainspring was found to be fatigued and was replaced with a period-appropriate spare. The barrel, lever, and escapement were lubricated and the movement reassembled. The original dial and hands were retained entirely.
The Outcome
The watch is now running within +6 seconds per day on the timing machine. The customer collects it as a daily wear piece. Turnaround was twelve working days. A condition note was provided describing the mainspring replacement and the current rate accuracy.
"I did not expect it to run this well. I thought we might have to accept some inaccuracy given its age. I was wrong."
The Challenge
A woman brought in her father's daily watch, which had been sitting in a drawer since the 1990s. The dial showed some dust ingress under the crystal, the crown had become stiff to operate, and the second hand was sitting at a slight angle suggesting it had been knocked at some point.
The Service
The watch was assessed for movement condition before opening the case. The movement was found to be in reasonable order despite the long rest. The crystal was removed, the dial dusted carefully, and the second hand was reseated correctly. The crown stem and setting mechanism were cleaned and lubricated.
The Outcome
The watch returned looking notably cleaner, with a correctly seated second hand and a smooth crown operation. Turnaround was seven working days. Full movement service was not required and the customer was advised to return in two to three years if she wishes to use it regularly.
"They told me what it needed and what it did not need. That was exactly what I wanted to hear."
